Michael Vick Sentenced to 23 Months in Jail for Role in Dogfighting Conspiracy

link here

Michael Vick, quarter back to the Falcons, was sentenced 23 months in jail for having dog fights on his property. Investigators found about a dozen bulldogs some with injuries, and dogfighting equipment. He admitted to murdering weak bulldogs who could not fight. He apologized to the court but they said apologize to the people who see you as a role model. So he did, he said

"I will redeem myself." He also accepted responsibility for his actions "I'm willing to deal with the consequences and accept responsibility for my actions."His sentence may be shortened due to good behavior, but, if you do the crime you due the time. No exceptions.

He seems sincere but who knows. I do not know how people can use animal's pain to their enjoyment. I grieve for the 6-8 bulldogs who died, and all the animals who have lost their life to the cruelty of their master. I am glad that most of the population is against cruelty to animals.

Tons of oil spill into Yellow Sea

link here

Well, the title pretty much speaks for itself. This short article stated that a boat in Korea named the Hebei Spirit was punctured by a crane in the tank are area releasing 10,000 gallons of oil. Thank goodness that there were strong currents and wind, that way the sea life in that ocean will not be put to risk of disease. South Korea has also had another oil spill that release 5,000 gallons of oil. That ship called the Sea Prince collided with a coral reef. The spill of the Hebei Spirit was the largest oil spill in Korea.

It is sad how sea life is put in danger because of incidents like this one. It was a good thing that there was a wind and currents. Much of waste and pollution also ends up in our oceans putting many sea creatures to risk.

Nebraska Mall Shooter Broke Up With Girlfriend, Lost Job Before Massacre

link here

This guy went into a mall in Nebraska after being dumped by his girlfriend and fired from McDonald's. The reports say that eight died and five were wounded. Many customers, employees, and children were hidden among closets and dressing rooms until the police came and told them to come out half hour later. The murderer's name was Robert A. Hawkins. He left a suicide note that read "sorry for everything," and "Now I'll be famous." He had a record for drinking, drug abuse and was arrested about 11 times. He shot himself after he was done taking the lives of innocent civilians.

To me this is a disgrace. I don't know how a person could relieve themself of being fired and dumped by taking the lives of people who didn't deserve to die. If he wanted to use a gun bullet on someone he should have done it on himself and himself only.

Famous polar bear Knut celebrates first birthday

link here

Knut is an Arctic polar bear that was abandoned at birth along with his twin brother. The zoo took him in and raised him. Sadly his brother did not survive for long. Knut became one year old. The zoo celebrated by baking a giant cake to sell to the crowd and let children enter the zoo free. Knut was more entertained with the toy candle than the crowd of children. In the picture he looks brown, he is actually white, he is just very dirty.

It is a good thing that the zoo took him in. To think that animal rights activists wanted to sue the zoo for keeping him. They wanted him in the wild even if he died. Today polar bears are becoming extinct because ice caps are being melted down. The polar bears have no ground to rest on so they have to keep swimming in the ocean looking for steady ice. Unfortunately they do not always find land and drown.

Sudan pardons British teacher over teddy bear

link here

This British teacher was sentenced to 15 days of prison but was released early. She was sentenced to jail because she let her class name a teddy bear Mohammad for a class project. They people of Sudan went to extreme measures for this accident. They wanted her to be killed for insulting Islam beliefs. They decided that it was just an innocent mistake, and released her after she said she was sorry. Her class rejoiced and she was able to get back into teaching.

The people of Sudan took this situation too seriously. They wanted to kill her just for naming a teddy bear Mohammad. I am glad she was let free. It would have been drastic if she was given 40 lashes or sentenced to prison for a long time.
